Helping Youth Build Stable Futures in the Transportation Industry

At Highway to Hope, we help Black and Indigenous youth from underserved and low-income communities in Toronto access career pathways in the transportation industry.
Founded by people who understand firsthand the challenges of growing up in underserved neighbourhoods, Highway to Hope was created to provide the kind of opportunity, guidance, and support we wished we had.
Through our Drive & Thrive program, participants receive more than commercial driver’s licence training. We help reduce barriers by supporting costs such as transportation, safety gear, and licensing, while also providing mentorship, financial literacy, and career coaching.
Our mission is to prepare youth not only for employment, but for independence, stability, and a future filled with opportunity.
For Black and Indigenous youth from underserved communities in Toronto, barriers such as limited access to training, financial pressure, and a lack of mentorship can make the future feel uncertain.
At Highway to Hope, we work to change that by creating a clear pathway into the transportation industry. Through practical support, mentorship, and career guidance, we help youth move from uncertainty to opportunity with the confidence and direction needed to build a stable future.

At Highway to Hope, we know that opportunity means more when youth can actually access it. That is why our program is designed to reduce the financial and practical barriers that often stand between young people and career training.
Through Drive & Thrive, participants may receive support with transportation costs, safety equipment, licensing expenses, mentorship, and career preparation, allowing them to focus on building the skills and confidence needed to move forward.
At Highway to Hope, we believe career success takes more than a licence. Alongside commercial driver’s licence training through our training partner, participants receive workshops that build essential life and career skills.
These workshops cover topics such as financial literacy, credit management, career development, and workplace readiness, helping youth make informed decisions and build long-term stability both on and off the road.

Make a lasting impact by supporting Highway to Hope. Every contribution helps us continue our mission of empowering Black and Indigenous youth to build stable careers and brighter futures.
